Summit Packaging Systems has significantly expanded its European headquarters in Almere, Netherlands, increasing its capacity for stock and custom actuator projects and strengthening its presence in the region. Vertical integration is at the core of Summit’s business model, with the only purchased items being a rubber gasket and ball bearing for ball valve applications. All other components are produced in-house from feedstock.

40% Increase in Manufacturing Footprint

The 6,500-square-meter, two-story extension has increased the site’s manufacturing footprint by 40%, providing the output capacity required to keep pace with growing product demand across the European market.

Advanced Injection Molding

A core aspect of this expansion is upgrading Summit’s injection molding operation to accommodate additional presses with higher tonnage capabilities. This enhancement enables us to produce high-precision valve components and actuators, maintaining our position at the forefront of aerosol technology innovation.

Summit is also in the process of updating the injection molding machine base to more energy-efficient hybrid models, which consume 30% less power for a more sustainable manufacturing process.

New Product Lines

In response to growing market demand, Summit Europe has also introduced new product lines, including:

  • Bag-on-Valve (BOV) systems to support growing demand and customer requests for shorter lead times

  • Female Valve systems adapted to the requirements of European paint and technical product fillers to avoid production line set-up changes. These options offer greater supply chain flexibility and expand our company’s portfolio to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

  • New Vertical Action Male Valve systems to deliver improved propellant-fill performance and avoid set-up changes on the production line.

  • New Stock Actuator solutions to provide a complete dispensing system for personal care, household, and technical product applications. This is supported by Summit’s in-house automation division, which designs and builds all assembly machines.

Streamlined Operations for Maximum Efficiency

Dedicated Assembly Areas

With this added capacity, Summit’s European headquarters has reorganized its production layout for optimal efficiency & product quality. The previous molding department has been converted into a dedicated actuator assembly area for stock and custom projects. A new BOV production area has been created, currently housing two high-speed production lines. A third line, along with a new area for dip tube extrusion featuring two high-speed lines, will be added in 2026.

Improved Workplace Safety and Efficiency

The new molding floor integrates an advanced overhead crane system to eliminate the need for forklifts. All utilities are now channeled through the ground floor to enhance workplace safety and efficiency.

Advanced R&D Lab and Technical Support

To further strengthen its position as a leader in aerosol technology, Summit has invested in a state-of-the-art 450-square-meter R&D lab. This facility enables increased capacity in product development, allowing technical teams to collaborate closely with customers to optimize solutions tailored to their specific needs. Technical support remains a critical pillar of Summit’s strategy, ensuring customers receive expert guidance throughout the product lifecycle.

A Sustainable & Future-Ready Approach

Summit’s investment in Almere aligns with its long-term sustainable growth and vertical integration strategy. By enhancing local production capabilities and minimizing our reliance on long-distance supply chains, Summit is reducing its carbon footprint while maintaining the high level of responsiveness our customers expect.

Quality, Innovation, and Supply Chain Excellence

With a market-leading presence in North America and Europe, Summit continues to expand its influence, ensuring it remains the go-to partner for aerosol valve solutions worldwide. This latest expansion marks a key milestone in the company’s ongoing journey to deliver superior quality, innovation, and supply chain excellence.
