In response to the growing demand for lightweight, sustainable packaging solutions in the personal care industry, Summit Packaging Systems has doubled the production capacity of its innovative Bodysurf Twist Lock 35 mm Actuator at its Racine, Wisconsin, USA manufacturing facility.
Advanced Molding and Technical Capabilities
The 6,500-square-meter expansion, which includes a new production cell equipped with advanced molds and automated assembly capabilities, is accelerating output of the Bodysurf actuator and other advanced dispensing solutions. “This expansion ensures we can continue to meet increased demand while maintaining the quality and innovation our customers expect,” says Global Sales Manager John Lynch.
An Innovative Design Rooted in Consumer Insights
Introduced in 2018, the Bodysurf Twist Lock actuator features a user-friendly design developed through extensive consumer research. It features clear audible, visual, and tactile cues that enable users to easily determine whether the actuator is open or closed. “This is especially important for sunscreens and other personal care products, where mess-free dispensing is crucial,” John adds.
Enhanced Functionality and User Experience
The actuator’s large stem-to-curl functional window helps prevent spray-off when the actuator is tipped on the production line, and the ribbed twist shroud offers better grip and control. These thoughtful details enhance both user safety and satisfaction.
A Lightweight, Tax-Advantaged Solution
Today’s personal care brands need packaging that is not only functional and stylish but also environmentally responsible. Weighing just 4.2 grams and designed without a dust cap, our Bodysurf Twist Lock actuator’s compact footprint helps brands meet their sustainability goals and avoid additional packaging taxes.
Commitment to Innovation and Customer Success
Summit Packaging Systems continues to invest in state-of-the-art manufacturing and thoughtful product design to meet the evolving needs of the personal care industry. “Our expanded Bodysurf Twist actuator capacity ensures our partners can confidently meet consumer demand while addressing the sustainability and compliance challenges of today’s market,” John points out.
